Good day..

So, this morning I had a great workout....came home and packed for Columbus/Vegas....Eric will be so freakin proud....I packed all of Vegas in one carry on bag!!!!....AWESOME!!!..It only proves I'm getting older....:(

About 4pm Asher and I headed to happy hour/playdate! Thanks Joanie, Jason, Zoey & Riley!!! Really enjoyed ourselves....plus I came home with some deer meat brunswick stew.....score!!!..Yummy!!!

Took a lot more photos than this, but they didn't turn out.....:(
Came home and took Asher a bath....

I told him we had to take a bath before he consumed all the candy in his pockets that Joanie had given him....

Eric had to work late tonight....I'm going to watch my dvr'd Gossip Girl and maybe (probably) sip some more wine until my hubby gets home...

Gosh I really need to sit...

I haven't sit all day....been running full steam since early this morning...anyway, got a lot done, like taking all the fall decorations off the front porch into the shed...hung a couple things, but we are going to wait until we get back from vacation to really get the decorating on....of course, I cleaned like a mad woman....then we went to Walmart.....that never makes for a happy day, but I got sooooo much done....I even found these in the shed....they were my bargain buys from last year, after Christmas.....they were marked down ridiculously cheap and it was when Eric was deployed...I thought that even if I didn't have anywhere to wear them ever....just looking at them would make me happy..:)
Aren't they beautiful???

I soooo need to sit down.....Asher is eating eggs and toast in his new jammies ($4 at Walmart) and I am letting my wonderful husband make stromboli's for dinner......all I did was roll out the dough....

Going to sip on wine now.....tomorrow's task is packing for Columbus/Vegas and happy hour/playdate with girlfriend (her house).....

We are still smiling....

GO BUCKEYES!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! Okay, so right now we might have to pull out all of our purple gear....go Wildcats!!!!...Wisconsin needs to go down for us to go to the Rose Bowl.....I'm a little buzzed off of Buckeye love and lots of specialty beer that my hubby bought today...of course I am using my special Buckeye wine glass that I painted a couple years ago....no wine today...just beer....
My boys watching the game together....
Still smiling!!!!! GO BUCKEYES!!!

Go Bucks!!!

We had a great day yesterday. It was a long training run, so we got Jessica (babysitter) to watch Asher. Eric ended up running 18 miles, and I did 15 miles at my fastest pace so far. We came home and had a pretty relaxing day watching some exciting football games and eating leftovers. Did not go into one shopping establishment. No way....you'd have to pay me or drag me by my hair to fight those crowds. Eric ended up going to Best Buy to look at the deals. I was surprised when he came back without a TV. :) Asher played with play doh all day....really.....all day.....

I stayed up last night and watched the Boise St. vs. Nevada game.....it was so exciting...I don't know how I didn't wake Eric up with all my jumping up and down on the bed and screaming....etc.....:)

I slept in while Eric took his car to get an oil change. He also ended up getting some great deal on some sweaters that look ravishing on him. We went to the gym and now we are ready to watch the Buckeyes kick some Michigan booty!!!
Yes...I have wet hair....no time to dry it before kick-off.....hopefully these faces stay happy and cheesy.....GO BUCKS!!!!

A Great Thanksgiving....

We had a wonderful meal...not to toot my own horn or anything....but, this is my own journal/blog....TOOT!!!!.. TOOT!!!...let me tell you....I can throw down....thanks Mom for teaching me at an early age....

Here are some pics from today......what a great day....so thankful....:)

Okay...so I ended up making mashed potatoes...broccoli & cheese casserole....stuffing....rolls....turkey with gravy, carrots, onions and red potatoes....homemade noodles...peach custard pie and pumpkin pie...

It was soooo delicious...I love to cook and think I do a good job most of the time, but today all things were aligned and Eric, Asher and I pulled off the ultimate Happy Thanksgiving Day....

He is really asleep.....no idea that I took this picture.....he is out.....night...night...:)
Me..no makeup....in jammies.....drank waaaaay too much wine tonight....ate waaaay too much food.....going to bed a really happy gal.....such a wonderful day!!!!

My little chef...

Asher is finally napping right now....he has been in the kitchen with me all day long....making pies, homemade noodles and tons of other yummy things....

Mommy let him make and bake his own little pie....he was so excited to eat it!!!

Yes...I have been wearing the turkey hat that Asher made me.....all day long....:)

I am thankful....

This morning around 8am I put our 5lb turkey breast in the crockpot....it will be delicious...gobble...gobble....
Then, I decided to take a quick run before I missed too much of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.....

I know....I'm a dork....
I ran 3 miles...and other than the thoughts of being hit by a car or attacked by a dog.....I thought about what I am thankful for....this is what I want to let God know.....

God,
Thank you for my awesome life. I know I may not let you know on an everyday basis how I feel, but I am grateful. Thank you for staying with me. Thank you for always guiding me back to whats important.....through all of my highs/lows and ups/downs.....although I have made many mistakes and haven't always made the right decisions.....you have given me a happy marriage....a wonderful husband, who is a great provider, best friend, father and human being....I have a healthy and happy son that I get to spend every day with......I could go on all day long.....you will be getting plenty of shout outs from me today.....thank you....thank you....thank...you.....
We are all sitting here watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade currently.....

Mental Breakdown

Last night I pretty much had a full-on mental breakdown.....every-once-in-awhile the hormones get to me....ya know??? Anyway, if you could have been in my head this week, you would have tried to put me in a straight-jacket. It was like someone was force feeding me double strength crazy bills.....I am thankful for my husband putting up with my craziness and being calm in a sticky situation....if he had reacted too swiftly, talked too soon or said something dreadful (in "my head").....I probably would have attacked like a lion and clawed his eyes out.......so happy he is so wonderful...because I really love his eyes.....they are beautiful.....
So, since I haven't felt like my normal, happy self.....I was thinking it might be okay to not have a traditional Thanksgiving meal.....but, since my meltdown last night.....my whole perspective has changed.....so, Asher and I made a trip to the commissary....here is my menu for tomorrow....

Turkey and Gravy...of course...
Cheesy Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing
Broccoli and Cheese
Mom #1 Peach Custard Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Dinner Rolls

There will also be plenty of Cold Duck in my glass.....(Roby Family Tradition)

Can't wait to watch the Macy's parade too!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Damn those Teacup Piggies!!!

Until this morning.....I didn't know about the newest, coolest toy for girls this Christmas....these little piggies are "the hot commodity" for Christmas right now....
Mom 2 calls me and said she needs a favor.....I could be her hero....Hannah really wants these things called Teacup Piggies for Christmas......she can't find Snowflake and Locket anywhere.....could I please call around to the Toys R Us's in our area to see if they have them.......1 1/2 hours on hold......nope.....no one has them......damn those teacup piggies!!!
I love you Mom 2 and Hannah (niece).....but no one is getting those damn little piggies unless you want to sleep at Toys R Us, or pay up the waaazzzooo for them.....

I wish I could have been your hero today.....oh well.....maybe some other time...:1

Have I mentioned Monday's suck???

House cleaning day....scrubbin...scrapin....dusting....sweeping...mopping....laundry...bedsheets....bathroom detail.....Mondays are really sucky...every other day I just do maintenance....I probably vacuum more than a normal person would, but I just really admire tracks on the carpet...I really wish we had hardwood floors still......then, I probably wouldn't feel so crazy-stupid about the carpet tracks...

Anywho....I also volunteered to make cupcakes for Asher's preschool class tomorrow.....yep, I volunteered....not sure if I just want his teachers to really like me (I know..I'm retarded)..or, if a part of me feels like it's just the right thing to do since I am a stay-at-home Mom....little bit of both...see...last week, his teacher asked me to be a chaperone for a fieldtrip coming up.....I told her that we'd be out of town on vacation...she said that she had another mom she could ask.....but of course, me being crazy...I felt guilty...so, I volunteered to make cupcakes for the kids before their Thanksgiving break.....anyway, here are my little creations....getting better at decorating.....:)...a little...

I made 2 special ones for Eric....little bigger...with a pumpkin pie hershey kiss instead of the carmel corn.....he hates the carmel corn kisses....

Hhhhhmmm...what else happened today???...I got to talk to my girlfriend Heather for awhile...she emailed me a really great recipe I'm going to try!!

Ingredients:
4-5 pound chuck roast
1 packet of each:  Ranch dressing, Italian dressing, brown gravy (can be beef, beef mushroom, etc) 1-cup of water
1 package of fresh slice mushrooms
1 bag of baby carrots (optional)

Crock pot on low for 8-10 hours....or high for 4-6 hours
