Bath Foam

Eric is gone tonight and I decided this would be a perfect time to do a little project with Asher....plus, I figured this would entertain him for a long while...so "Moni" could watch a dvr'd episode of Gossip Girl while he played in the tub! It was perfect!

Shaving Cream + Food Coloring = Bath Foam!!!

I think he'll be in there for awhile.....:)

Tradition is broken...

Eric stated that he did not want to make pizzas today. So, I decided to try a new crockpot recipe! Although, nothing could compare to my hubby's Sunday pizzas....I think he'll be pleasantly surprised when he comes home from working out....:)

Butter Parsley Red Potatoes

6-8 red potatoes - washed and dried
lots of salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup of dried parsley
1 stick of butter

* Cut potatoes into quarters. Put potatoes and seasonings into crockpot. High for 3 -4 hours. Add butter at the very end and stir. Perfect and easy!

I also made shredded chicken for shredded chicken sandwiches, baked beans and roasted carrots.....

Happy Sunday!!!

The last couple of days...

have been so much fun!!!! On Friday, Asher and I went to go see the Alvin and the Chipmunks:  Chipwrecked. He loved it! I even let him pick out some candy.....DOTS....The movie was cute, but I had more fun watching him laugh his butt off! Surprisingly, we had the whole movie theater to ourselves.

It was impossible to get a good picture, he was too excited to focus...:)

Eric and I went to a cooking class at Sur La Table yesterday! It was soooooo much fun! NY Baked Desserts.......YUM!!!
Chef Lynne Just taught us how to make:

Mississippi Mud Pie
Burnt Sugar Bundt Cake with Caramel Rum Frosting
Peanut Butter Crispie Bars
Lemon Almond Meringue Tarts - My FAV!!!

It was so much fun! Eric and I want to do another one, maybe an italian or asian dinner next time.....It was such a wonderful gift! Thank you Dad and Kelley!!!

Pioneer Woman's Spiced Pop Pulled Pork

Meet Ree Drummond....I am currently obsessed with her! Well, I have been for awhile now. She has been blogging for years, and I have been following, but now she has a cooking show on the Foodnetwork Channel on Saturday mornings! Lovin it! Her recipes are simple and delicious! I love her cookbook and she has a new one coming out soon too....can't wait to get! Here is a recipe that I must try soon!!! Just thought I'd share!

SPICED POP PULLED PORK

Ingredients

  • 2 onions, peeled and quartered
  • 1 whole pork butt (pork shoulder roast)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • One 11-ounce can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 2 cans pop (I use Dr Pepper)
  • 4 packed tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

Start by placing the onion quarters in the bottom of a pot. Sprinkle the pork with salt and pepper, and then place on top of the onions. Pour the chipotle peppers over the top, and then crack open the cans of pop and pour them over the whole thing. Add the brown sugar to the liquid and stir.

Cover the pot, put in the oven and cook for at least 6 hours, flipping the roast 2 or 3 times during the cooking process. When it's done, the pork will be dark and weird and wonderful. It'll also be fork-tender. That's when you know it's done.

Remove the meat from the pot and shred completely. Then return the meat to the pot and keep in the juice until you need it. Divine!

It feels like Friday!

Eric has a 4 day weekend! Woohoo! Asher and I are already in weekend mode! These are some pics from this morning....Grandpa R - He loves his Browns sweatshirt! When he put it on this morning....he said "Let's go brownies! Woof! Woof!" He was excited to wear it to school....
He wanted to wear it, but then I remembered that it was going to get up to 65 degrees out....so I told him we'd have to change....
He brought this little guy home to me....Meet Mr. Moose!

Since it was so beautiful today, we played outside for a long time.....

He said, "You can hear the beach everytime Moni!"

After a really long time playing outside....the only way I could get my little man to come inside was with a little surprise bribe.....it does feel like Friday....that's my excuse anyway....

I needed to start working on yummy stuff to eat these next few days....

I made steak quesadillas and pepperoni/cheesy bread to snack on....and some homemade sangria for me to sip on.....maybe while we play some cards...who knows!

Have a great weekend! TGIF!!! I mean, TGIT!!! :)
